Galaxies consist of things like stars, planets, moons, gas, and dust. Galaxies are bound together by gravity. They are generally classified by shape. Wikipedia says "There are probably more than 170 billion galaxies in the observable universe." That is a huge number! The Galaxy that we live in is called the "Milky Way". Dwarf Galaxies have around 10 million stars, Giant Galaxies have around one hundred trillion stars!
